Tuesday Volunteers looking at finds
Welcome to the homepage for the new Volunteer Inclusion Project based at the London Archaeological Archive & Research Centre (LAARC)
The aim of the project is to create more shelf space for future archives by effective, efficient packing of material excavated during the 1970's /1980's.
The project focuses on two sections of the archive; with the help of volunteers from various parts of the community, over 10 weeks project 1 aims to complete general finds archives up until 1973 and project 2 intends to transfer LAARC's registered metal to their new shelves in the metal store.
In addition to volunteers helping us, we are offering them a chance to develop basic transferable skills which can improve CV's as well as improve their knowledge of London's Archaeology through specialist workshops and by handling real artefacts.
Keep an eye on these pages to find out more about how the project progresses, look at images of rediscovered finds and learn more about getting involved.
